Both UHSM and RMCH are tertiary burns centres and offer the full range of acute and long term burn surgery and therapy. As well as thermal injuries we deal with electrical and chemical burns, and also medical conditions of extensive skin loss such as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis and the bullous disorders.

- Dedicated theatre for dressing changes in complex burns
- Burns Reconstruction
- Contracture release with skin grafts, dermatoplasy, dermal regeneration templates and locoregional flaps or free tissue transfer.
- Procedures for management of hypertrophic scarring.
- Reconstruction of the burned hand such as web space deepening, arthrolysis and tendon reconstruction are managed as joint cases between the burns team and the hand surgeons.
